We already saw how protective and motherly chickens are. Motherhood is inherent in them, whether they like it or not. This is another example of their protective maternal instincts, and a rather unexpected one: a chicken is protecting two kittens during a storm.

It doesn’t matter they are not her babies, or that they aren’t even her kind – when a baby is in need, a chicken is always willing to help.
