They say there’s no greater feeling than motherhood – holding your child for the first time, taking care of your babies, preparing them to face the world and watching them grow. It’s not exactly the same thing with dogs, but after they give birth, dogs’ maternal instincts kick in (much like with chickens), and they will do anything to protect their babies.

That being said, being a mother can also be quite exhausting, for obvious reasons. This Golden Retriever loves her babies more than anything else in the world, and yet she’s allowed to get tired.
