#23: Nikki Blonsky
It’s ironic that Nikki Blonsky’s breakout movie was Hairspray, considering she’s now a hairdresser. With no previous acting experience, Nikki nailed the starring role in the movie adaptation of the musical Hairspray. Through her role, Blonsky effortlessly inspired laughs as she wowed viewers with her dancing and bubbly personality. Many feel that the movie and Nikki’s acting didn’t receive enough recognition.
Although, she did win two Critics Choice Awards for Best Actress, along with a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress and the Screen Actors Guild Award. Nikki starred in a few more TV shows, but they were cut short. Blonsky currently does hair in between auditions in New York.
