#8: Applying Eyeliner Too Heavily On The Lower Lash Line
Lower-lash eyeliner can seem like the quickest way to define the eyes, especially if it has been part of your routine for years. The trouble is that a heavy line underneath can pull the eye downward, make the eyes look smaller, and create a tired effect.

A softer technique usually works better. Keep most of the definition on the upper lash line, then use a lighter touch below. Try brown, charcoal, or taupe instead of stark black, and smudge gently so there is no hard edge. The result feels lifted and softer.
