#1: Freezing in Place
A dog that suddenly goes stiff and completely still may be giving a warning sign. Their body can look tense, rigid, and locked in place, often before growling, snapping, or biting. This usually happens when the dog feels threatened, cornered, protective, or overwhelmed.

Stop interacting immediately and give the dog space. Do not stare, touch, yell at, or punish them. Calmly move away and avoid trapping the dog. If this behavior happens often around food, toys, strangers, or handling, contact a veterinarian or qualified behavior professional.
