#31: Bloody Diarrhea
Bloody diarrhea can be a serious warning sign, especially when paired with vomiting, weakness, fever, or loss of appetite. The blood may appear bright red or dark and tar-like. Causes can include infections, poisoning, parasites, stress, internal bleeding, or severe digestive illness.

Contact a veterinarian promptly if your dog develops bloody diarrhea, especially if symptoms continue or worsen. Keep the dog hydrated and monitor for weakness, pale gums, or collapse. Avoid giving new foods, treats, or medications unless instructed. Severe dehydration and internal problems can develop quickly without proper treatment.
