#41: Sudden Confusion or Disorientation
A dog that suddenly seems confused or disoriented may wander aimlessly, stare into space, bump into objects, or fail to recognize familiar people or surroundings. Confusion can happen because of toxins, seizures, neurological disease, heatstroke, infections, or dangerously low blood sugar.

Contact a veterinarian promptly if your dog suddenly acts disoriented or mentally “not normal.” Keep them in a safe, quiet area away from stairs or hazards. Avoid overstimulation and monitor for vomiting, tremors, weakness, or collapse. Sudden confusion can signal a serious medical problem requiring urgent veterinary attention.
