#43: Heavy Panting That Does Not Stop
Dogs naturally pant to cool themselves down, but nonstop heavy panting can signal pain, stress, overheating, breathing trouble, or illness. Some dogs also drool, pace, seem restless, or struggle to settle. Persistent panting should be taken seriously, especially in hot weather or after exercise.

Move the dog to a cool, quiet area and offer access to water if they can drink normally. Avoid exercise, excitement, or heat exposure. Contact a veterinarian if the panting continues, worsens, or appears alongside weakness, vomiting, collapse, or breathing difficulty. Quick action can prevent dangerous overheating or medical complications.
