38. It Doesn’t Work Like That
The notion that a temporary period of healthy behavior can make up for long-term unhealthy habits is definitely wrong and can have serious consequences. Health is a cumulative result of consistent choices over time, not a simple transaction. Stopping a harmful habit briefly doesn’t erase its impact or grant immunity to its risks.

Arguing that one should be able to indulge freely after a brief period of health is ignoring the fact that many health issues are irreversible and can have lasting effects. Maintaining good health requires sustained effort, and the benefits of healthy living cannot simply offset the damage caused by destructive habits in a brief window of time.
