Grace Kelly’s Incredible Life from Old Hollywood Star to Princess

Grace starred opposite William Holden in the 1954 Korean War drama The Bridges at Toko-Ri, playing Nancy Brubaker, the worried wife of Holden’s naval aviator. The film gave her another substantial role opposite one of Hollywood’s most established leading men.

Accounts from the period and later biographies describe Grace and Holden becoming romantically involved during or around the production. Holden was married to actress Brenda Marshall, which made the relationship especially sensitive.
