The Perfect Role Fit
Despite losing some roles due to his striking looks, Robert Redford was the quintessential fit for many roles, including a CIA agent in Three Days of the Condor (1975). His appearance, however, slightly mismatched one specific scene’s intended vibe.

In a challenging scene, Redford’s character kidnaps Faye Dunaway. Due to Redford’s allure, Dunaway found it hard to act terrified. Directly addressing this, director Sydney Pollack had to substitute for Redford, helping Dunaway deliver a believably terrified performance with a less handsome stand-in.
