#13: His First Animation Company Laugh-O-Gram, Was a Massive Failure
Before creating the entertainment empire that bears his name, Walt suffered a devastating early failure. In 1923, his Kansas City-based Laugh-O-Gram Studio went bankrupt. He had invested heavily in a series of short cartoons, but the company was plagued by financial mismanagement and slow payment from clients.

Forced to close the studio, Walt packed a suitcase, boarded a train for Hollywood, and carried with him a single completed short. This setback taught him hard lessons about financing and business that would shape his future approach, proving that early defeat does not preclude historic success later on.
