Monotonous Meal
The monotonous routine of prison life extends even to the dining hall, where the lack of variety in meals becomes a daily struggle. The experience of an inmate with celiac disease, confined to a repetitive diet, illustrates this. The absence of diversity in food choices affects physical and mental health.
Each meal, identical to the last, underscores the broader issue of the prison system’s inadequacies in addressing individual dietary needs and providing a well-rounded diet. While meeting basic nutritional requirements, this repetitive fare neglects the psychological and emotional aspects of eating. I can’t even imagine myself eating the same monotonous meal every day.
