#38: Accidental Genius
I can say with certainty that if you handed me an unsolved math problem, it would stay unsolved. My math skills are what you might charitably call “very average.” But I guess if you are very good at math, sometimes getting your hands on two unsolved math problems means making a major breakthrough in the world of statistics and eventually getting your doctorate.
I would love to be a fly on the wall during the conversation where he turned the completed math problems into his professor. I can only imagine that the math professor’s jaw hit the floor, as well as Dantzig’s.
