“No Parking in Your Driveway”: Reddit Users Share Wild and Confusing HOA Rules and Regulations

It seems that this person’s HOA loves to be up in everybody’s business. In their community, houses can only have chain link fences installed. Wooden and brick fences are not allowed. This rule rubbed our storyteller the wrong way when they learned about it, and for good reason. Everyone can see into their backyard!

This has to be the worst rule ever. Chain link fences are fine, but they’re not exactly beautiful. If someone wants to create a cozy, private sanctuary space in their backyard, they’re out of luck in this community. Our storyteller especially hates this rule because all the houses are so close together. The chain link fences let everyone look in on everyone else’s business.
