#17: Astro Pops, 1963–2004
Astro Pops debuted in the space race era, shaped like rocket ships and layered in bright colors. Kids loved the novelty, the futuristic design, and the challenge of eating the giant cone-shaped lollipop. They became a staple of corner stores, movie theaters, and childhood memories in the 70s and 80s.

With branding that leaned into America’s fascination with astronauts, Astro Pops were more than candy — they symbolized adventure and imagination. Holding one felt like holding a piece of space itself, a sweet rocket that transported kids far beyond their everyday lives.
