#37: McDonald’s Super Size, 1993–2004
In the early 1990s, McDonald’s introduced the “Super Size” option, letting customers upgrade fries and drinks to enormous portions. For kids and teens of the era, ordering Super Size felt like a badge of honor. It was indulgent, over-the-top, and perfectly matched the fast-food culture of the time.

Super Size became a pop culture staple, even referenced in TV shows and music. It symbolized the era’s obsession with excess — big sodas, big fries, big everything. For many, the giant red boxes of fries and massive cups of Coke became iconic memories of 90s fast-food dining.
