#20: First Footprint on the Moon
The footprint photograph was printed as proof of an almost unbelievable achievement. It let readers focus on a small, human detail rather than only rockets and machinery. Many saw it as progress made visible. Today, the image stands for exploration, ambition, and the moment humans physically marked another world.

The photo was taken during Apollo 11 in July 1969. After landing on the Moon, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin spent a little over two hours outside the lunar module. The footprint was part of documenting the surface, but it quickly became symbolic: a quiet trace left during one of history’s loudest achievements.
