When it comes to the ocean, there are many things that we do not understand. Whether it be the diverse group of sealife that reside underneath or never being able to fully comprehend what goes on beneath, there will always be certain mysteries about the deep blue. And when researchers from the National Oceanographic Atmospheric Administration NOAA were trying to detect volcanic activity underwater, they came across something far more interesting.

In 1997, during an underwater detection of volcanic activity, this group of researchers heard an unusual sound in the Pacific Ocean.
