#27: Aeroperú Flight 603 (1996)
Shortly after takeoff from Lima, a Boeing 757 began showing confusing altitude and speed readings. Unknown to the pilots, static ports had been accidentally covered with tape during cleaning. Disoriented in darkness over the Pacific Ocean, the crew struggled for 30 minutes before the aircraft plunged into the sea, killing all 70 onboard.

The accident became notorious for how a simple maintenance mistake snowballed into tragedy. It also revealed how pilots can be overwhelmed when instruments disagree. Aeroperú 603 is remembered as a chilling example of how human error on the ground can doom a flight before it even leaves safely.
