#33: Winning the Gene Lottery
Recessive genes don’t pop up in a person’s appearance as commonly as dominant genes, but every once in a while they’ll manifest in a new member of a family. This person won the “recessive gene lottery” as she likes to put it – because a bunch of rare family traits are apparent in her appearance.
Both her parents have brown hair and brown eyes, but she has light blue eyes, freckles, and light red hair! All of these traits aren’t common in her family, but they pop up once in a while. Never all in the same person, though! She went on to explain that she has a few other traits that are a result of recessive family genes, which is pretty cool.
