Saltines Holdings, LLC claimed the $1.602 billion Mega Millions jackpot from the August 8, 2023 drawing in Florida. The winning Quick Pick ticket was sold at a Publix in Neptune Beach, turning an ordinary grocery-store purchase into the largest Mega Millions prize ever won at the time.

Because the claimant used an LLC, the person behind the ticket kept much of their life private. The winner chose the one-time lump sum of about $794.2 million before taxes. In 2023, that amount could buy oceanfront property, private investments, family trusts, and nearly any version of financial privacy money can purchase.
