The Life of Actress and Activist Jane Fonda

On August 16, 2019, Jane Fonda’s brother, actor Peter Fonda, died in Los Angeles at the age of 79 from respiratory failure due to lung cancer. His career included Easy Rider and other films associated with the late 1960s counterculture era.

His death marked another major loss within the Fonda family. With both her father and brother gone, she became the last surviving member of her immediate Hollywood lineage.
