#2: Tennessee
Jobs Gained: 5.7%
Jobs Lost: 5.2%
Tennessee had a solid job-growth edge, with more jobs being created than lost. New work has been coming from areas like health care, logistics, manufacturing, construction, tourism, and the growing business scene around Nashville, Memphis, Chattanooga, and Knoxville.

Still, some jobs were disappearing too. Retail, restaurants, smaller service businesses, and parts of manufacturing can shrink when costs rise or demand slows. So while Tennessee’s job market looked positive overall, not every industry was moving in the same direction.
