#16: Education
Education draws people who want meaningful work and a stable career. Many students enter the field because they love children, care about learning, or remember a teacher who changed their life. They expect a clear path after graduation: finish the degree, earn certification, and step into a classroom with purpose.

The hard part is that the job can demand far more than outsiders realize. Teachers often face long hours, emotional pressure, classroom management challenges, and pay that may not match the workload. That mismatch is a major reason education shows up in regret surveys, even among people who still care deeply about teaching.
