#7: Photography
Photography appeals to students who love capturing people, places, fashion, news, weddings, sports, or fine-art images. They may imagine building a recognizable style, working for magazines, shooting campaigns, opening a studio, or traveling for assignments. For visual storytellers, a degree can seem like a way to turn instinct into a profession.

The regret often comes from how much the market values proof over credentials. Clients usually care about a portfolio, equipment, editing skills, speed, taste, and reputation more than the diploma itself. Many photographers also work freelance, which means income can rise and fall sharply depending on clients and demand.
