These Posts and Memes Transport Us Back to the 80s

I’ve never made this connection before, but now that I’ve seen this meme, I will never be able to think of YouTube in the same way again. From the first moment that video recorders became affordable for regular people, there has been this basic human urge to share funny videos we take with other people.

But what were we to do in those primitive days before the Internet was ubiquitous and YouTube was everywhere? The answer, of course, was to send them to America’s Funniest Home Videos and hope that America’s dad, Bob Saget, would show them to the nation.
