#32: Leave Me Alone
There’s a longstanding tradition of giving Christmas gifts that are merely thinly veiled hints at the lifestyle changes that certain members of our family wish we would make. This reminds me of how my Aunt and Uncle bought me a pair of black leather pants when I was going through my pink silk phase.

I was equally confronted at the time by that particular choice of gift, as this fourteen-year-old Goth seems to be. Needless to say, these kinds of clues are rarely successful in creating long-term change within their recipients. I can’t imagine those silk pajamas were worn very often.
