Antidepressant Overprescription
The mental health of our children is a topic that should be on everyone’s mind. It is concerning to know that American children are three times more likely to be prescribed antidepressants than children in Europe. This fact raises questions about the state of mental health awareness in our society and the access to proper resources for those who need it.
Are American children really more prone to mental health issues than their European counterparts? Or are we too quick to rely on medication instead of addressing underlying issues? It is important to note that antidepressants can be life-saving for some individuals, but they should not be the first line of defense for every child struggling with mental health.
