Plasma gasification is a process that uses plasma to convert organic matter into a synthesized gas made of hydrogen and carbon monoxide. 

This newer form of technology has been praised as a more efficient alternative to our traditional garbage dump sites. Instead of dumping things in a landfill, they can be smashed into a gas. Plasma gasification hasn’t caught on yet. It costs a lot of money to set up and has yet to turn profitable for companies. Who knows? Maybe landfills will be quaint things of the past in the future.
