#35: Damaged Fencing
Damaged fencing can make a yard feel less private, less secure, and less finished. Missing panels, leaning posts, peeling paint, broken gates, or gaps are especially noticeable to buyers with pets, children, or privacy concerns.

Simple repairs can restore a lot of value. Straighten leaning sections, replace broken boards, repaint or stain worn fencing, and make sure gates latch properly. To avoid repeat damage, choose materials that match the climate and keep plants from pushing against the fence.
