#29: The Show Was Often Snubbed During Award Season
Despite massive ratings, Three’s Company earned surprisingly few major awards. John Ritter received recognition for his performances, but the series itself was rarely showered with trophies. Broad sitcoms, especially those driven by physical comedy, were often overlooked by awards bodies.

That lack of accolades didn’t hurt its legacy. If anything, it reinforced the show’s outsider status — wildly popular, endlessly rerun, and culturally omnipresent without institutional validation. Awards come and go, but syndication, catchphrases, and slammed doors turned out to be the real markers of success.
