Times When Good Intentions Resulted in Disastrous Outcomes

Here’s an example of overprotective parenting in action. A storyteller’s mom made them attend a Christian university and then proceeded to rat them out when she discovered they were smoking, drinking, and doing other un-Christian activities. Their mom took her concerns to the university in an attempt to get them “back on track,” but her plan backfired. 

Instead of taking the disciplinary measures their mom intended, the school ended up kicking them out and rescinding their scholarship. Being a private university, tuition was insanely expensive, and they couldn’t afford to attend without taking out loans. As a result, this person shared that they’re still paying off that semester’s tuition 10 years later. Thanks, mom!
