While filming his iconic number for “Singin’ in the Rain,” he was apparently suffering from a bad cold and fever. He was afraid he would catch pneumonia, but that didn’t happen, as far as we can tell. We don’t know whether or not he regretted the decision to work while he was sick, but Singing in the Rain went on to become one of the most popular musicals of all time.
