#16: An Explosive Argument
The eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD is probably one of the most famous volcanic eruptions known to man. I imagine it’s just because of the excavation of the site, which captured the world’s attention starting in the 1700s. Still, if you’re not a fan of history or geology, you probably don’t think a ton about volcanoes, even the famous ones.

So really, in a way, it’s an accomplishment that this girl was aware of Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii, the ancient city that was buried in the eruption, at all. But to have the date of the eruption wrong by more than 1900 years is so ridiculous that it almost becomes impressive.
