#17: They’re Not Wrong
Okay, I know that some people reading this are going to immediately lose whatever small amount of good opinion they may have had of me—as much as someone can have a good opinion of a stranger whose writing they found in an amusing article on the Internet—but hear me out: I can kind of see where this American is coming from.

I mean, obviously, Australia is not in Europe, but many of the settlers who came during its population boom were European, and there are still cultural ties between the two. And there are a lot of other similarities. They’re both kind of tucked away in the corner, they’re both hot and full of dangerous animals, and much like English criminals were sent to Australia to live out the rest of their days in seclusion, American retirees go to Florida for the same purpose.
